Hey Stacey, that was one of the nicest things anyone has ever said to me.
You are one of my favourite things too.
And if things are still a little rough, the offer for a quiet dinner with loud company still stands.
I’d hate to think you’re lonely and feeling unloved.
love
Dom
Happy Valentines Day to you all.
ReplyDeleteYou have all made my last nine months a true joy.
I dearly wish you love.
Dom, in his own quiet way, telling Stacey he loves her too. Wonderful.
ReplyDeleteStephen — did you engineer it so that these last few e-mails would be published around Valentines Day, or is that just a happy coincidence?
Addendum:
ReplyDeleteYour solitary label for this email is beautifully apt, Stephen
That's a nice way to phrase the ending there. Telling her he'd hate for her to feel unloved is always going to come across as though he is implying he loves her...
ReplyDeleteNice, quiet sentiment...
ReplyDeleteI'll take him up on that quiet dinner if Stacey won't.
ReplyDeleteI love it. No games, no cryptic story, just an invitation to dinner.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of the quote:
"It is more fun to talk with someone who doesn't use long, difficult words but rather short, easy words like "What about lunch?"
— A.A. Milne (Winnie-the-Pooh)
How fitting for Valentine's Day (even if I don't think it's a real holiday). Stephen did you plan that? Also, I love the lone tag. "Love"
a dinner... but will elsa be there??
ReplyDeleteJamie, I wish I could completely claim the timing. But I'm not that smart. I had it losely charted though and was manipulting posts the closer we got to the 14th.
ReplyDeleteRedYeti, true - and I think he has always implied. I am surprised Nabs hasn't picked up on the 'love' sign off as a literal reinforcer of your observation.
ReplyDeleteChris, I love your choice of the word quiet. Word of the days, I reckon.
ReplyDeleteKimberley, welcome back - missed your comments.
ReplyDeleteI tell you what of no dinner - I'll get Do to contact you :)
Jason, as mentioned to Jamie, I can't wholly take praise for timing. Mayb a little though - to make me feel a little loved - on this day.
ReplyDeleteLove AA Milne quote. Have you read Christopher Milne's autobiography. Really great. There's 3-5 as far as I know. The first is the best. It's called Enchanted Places. Really lovely.
u'll get Dom to contact her? erm... ok... right after I get to meet him too eh?
ReplyDeleteI'm replying because of AA Milne... what could be more apt than thinking of him on Valentine's Day... "Weeds are flowers too, once you get to know them."
Ipshi what a lovely quote--
ReplyDeleteStephen, hadn't previously read. I'll be sure to check it out.
ReplyDeleteIpshi, love that quote. Continuing the Milne trend:
"What I say is that, if a fellow really likes potatoes, he must be a pretty decent sort of fellow."
