Well, I know it is short notice but what you doing over the weekend?

Saturday night I’m free.

My flatmate, Elsa is going to some dance party – so she won’t return until 8:00am (all happy and thirsty with glow sticks in her back pocket and herpes on her lips)

You can dare my cooking if you want or we can get takeaway if easier. My shout.

Dom

PS sorry for mentioning herpes and food in a matter of sentences.

PPS sorry for putting them into the same sentence.

Damn – sorry Dom busy Saturday night…we’re going to a dance party too…would you believe...maybe the same one as your flat mate…

What about next weekend?

Excellent – next Saturday it is. I’ll do my version of penne puttanesca. Or as it’s literally translated - prostitute pasta.

Though I should warn you my version of penne puttanesca is a cheaper version – so I call it: St Kilda-penne.

Say 7:30 – my address is 4/15 Albert Street West End.

Looking forward to it.

Dom

  1. You have his adress and still doesn't find him?

  2. @syvan, yes, but understand that it is now 11 years old.

  4. By 'we' i'm assuming she is and Marcus are an item?? Also Stephen I was wondering if Stacey or Dom know you are putting these emails up. It's a small world and someone reading this must know them. How do you think they would feel about it?

    ReplyDelete
  5. Syvan, I have changed their names, addresses and emails but that's all. I wouldn't publish those details. The address is made up.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Anon (10:25) and you're right - they are 11 years old too. Good call.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Anon (10:45) Thanks for your comment and your obvious frustration with Stacey.

I have removed the comment solely because of the sexually violent allusions. Though I sure they were not literal, I'm cautious of other readers and feel a degree of moderation is needed.

Please feel free to comment however in the future. Thanks.

  8. Anon (10:56) Yes, I think the 'we' means she is still with Marcus. And as yet I haven't been contacted by the real Dom and Stacey.
    That would be very interesting.
I have no idea how they'd feel.

  9. So they aren't really called Stacey and Dom! I've been reading from the beginning and am still in two minds about the truth of the computer story.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Arghh! Dom!

I'm feeling nauseous. In my best Woody Allen tradition.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Nah, I'm fine with you removing that comment. Its perfectly in your right and I was awful violent. But you have to admit that's a really low move of her. I don't care, at this point, if she turns around. Dom seems to be nothing but a toy to her for her to suck emotion out of like a vampire does blood. I've seen this happen to many a good guy who wants nothing more than to have a good and happy relationship with someone who cares about them.

  12. I'm surprised nobody has picked up on the choice of pasta dish. If that isn't unconscious payback, I don't know what is.

I'm glad Stacey is above it, or oblivious.

I think I'm right here, I don't think it's a conscious attack. I think if Dom was doing this consciously, he'd be serving "penne you-fucked-my-friend-you-whore" with a green salad.

By the way, did they have herpes in 1999?

    ReplyDelete
  13. You changed their names??? NO!!!!!! I mean I expected the last names to be fake but I have been calling them S+D this whole time and now I'm sad.
I regards to the emails, he got his answer, they're still together. He took it like a man and didn't back out of inviting them over, I'm proud of him. Favourite line of all time, "(all happy and thirsty with glow sticks in her back pocket and herpes on her lips)".
    YES!
    I enjoy that, alot!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Anon (11:10) They'll always be Stacey and Dom to me.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Chris, really loving your Woody Allen links. In the old days we ever talk about Woody Allen?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Essex, good to hear your thoughts again. Your last line:

"By the way, did they have herpes in 1999?"

Made me laugh and laugh. That's very very funny.

    ReplyDelete
  17. PS Essex: And I hope someone does a copy pasta of a wikipedia post too in response.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Steph T, I'm proud of him too. And as I said to Anon - they'll always be Stacey and Dom to me.

Hey - also think you're a damn fine person - love your values.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Anon (1:56) Oops missed your comment. Sorry. But thanks for coming back. I really appreciate it. Your thoughts are really valuable. You obviously feel an injustice.

I wonder if anyone wants to defend our Stacey in her actions. Is she a vampire?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Stephen, If you've changed their names then that means you've also changed the first email where they talk about their names. I asked a couple of months back whose hard drive it was and you asked if i really wanted to know and at the time I said that I didn't but now I would like to know whose hard drive it is.

I think that in their comments people often forget how young they are. Stacey is an independent young woman who should be free to date who she likes. Maybe Marcus was more charismatic than Dom, maybe he was better looking. At the end of the day Dom and Stacey don't know each other very well, why should she be judged for hurting Dom's feelings when there was no malice in her actions. Dom's feeling have been hurt because Dom didn't get what he wanted.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Anon (5:14) It was Stacey's hard drive - she keeps all her emails.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Stephen, I would like to know what values you believe I have. I'm just wondering cause you have told me a couple of times that I am a good person (or at least seem like one). I have been called a bad person numerous times so I'm a little curious....

    ReplyDelete
  23. Ugh Dom.. So frustrating. Some of my distaste for Stacey is coming back.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I have the feeling possibly Marcus is just someone she's biding her time with. He's probably not done anything to justify a break up, but the fact that she wants to go to Dom's shows the fact she's still interested. I mean come on guys, if you had a boy/girl friend, would you want to go hang out and have dinner with a guy who you know was interested and got pissed when they first learned you got with someone else... She's feeling out the situation, in my opinion at least. Possibly seeing how he reacts around Marcus... My interest lies in a week when they have the meeting. I wonder if he'll make snide remarks or if he'll be a stand up guy... I have my opinion, but I think I'm going to hold on to it for now. Let's see how the build up plays out.

  25. I feel like I’ve been lurking, taking a backseat with the commenting. School has me busy. But this entry made me want write at least something. It makes me laugh (because of Dom’s humour) but also makes me feel sad for him – total shuffled onto Team Dom again. Every time I see Marcus’ name I cringe...probably won’t be naming any pets or future kids with that name any time soon...

And the whole fact that these e-mails are coming from Stacy’s hard-drive gives me a few ounces of hope. Though, I’m not about to get my hopes up, only to have them shattered. I have to remind myself these two are still quite young (at the time these emails were written)...they make mistakes.

Now, let’s see if they can act like the adults they can be... I’m hoping the dinner party isn’t a total disaster.

  26. Stephen, I was not really aware of Heywood as a cultural force until I joined a band inthe early '90s, whose bass player turned me into him and Derek and Clive. I had seen Annie Hall, but I think your interest fueled mine.

Unlike Woody, I don't despise the human race, I've just been disappointed too often after taking an optimistic point of view.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Steph T, firstly I should apologise for assumption - but it seems your values of justice and the 'right' thing in your comments indicate attributes of decency. Your annoyance with Dom and Stacey's occassional bad behaviour also seems to indicate values of fairness.

But you also forgive and this alone is the most overt indicator.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Jason - nooooo - I'd hate you to have a bad taste. Quickly eat something sweet.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Chris, love your reading. I think you're right. They're still dancing. But they've made it a little compliated for themselves.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Stephanie, I love that you won't be naming any pets Marcus. Me too. Unless it's a critter that would suit him. Suggestions anyone?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Chris D', this is:

"Unlike Woody, I don't despise the human race, I've just been disappointed too often after taking an optimistic point of view."

has been my experience too. What's wrong with us?

    ReplyDelete
  32. I know you changed the address but you've got the real, with that you could find them... only if you want it. Would you like to find them?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Syvan, yes I do have real address - but it was a Student rental back in 1999 and though I could try and source the original real estate agent
    (not sure who it was)

and go back through the 11 years of tenants you are right in assuming that part of me doesn't want to.

Hopefully like you, I kinda want to keep it a mystery.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Did Stacey have something nice on her HDD? e.g. her photos? or something what would be worth showing on this blog? ^^

    ReplyDelete
  35. I think photos would take away from the mystery. I, for one, wouldn't want to see them.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Suggestion: Probably only call a goldfish Marcus...cause those only last like 2 weeks before you have to flush them down the towel. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  37. Syvan, I agree with Jason - I never really looked as it would take away the mystery.

Maybe I could ask what you think they might look like?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Stephanie, very funny - I think I'd call a Lizard Marcus or if I ever have a pet cuckoo.

    ReplyDelete
  39. i don't know that it would take away the mystery so much as disappoint the fantasy. I mean the real mystery lies in whether they end up together, the fantasy is visual of it all.
