126th email

From: Stacey Marchenkova
To: Dom Borax
Sent: Friday July 13th July 1999, 19:01 PM
Subject: RE RE RE RE RE RE RE RE RE RE RE RE RE Ways to Kill Russell

Love to come over and share the thrill…but I’m working early tomorrow at Guide Dogs selling Tea Towels and woollen underlays…wanna get some cash...gotta stop sponging off Marcus…need to grow up...

And I know you’re thinking; Stacey - tomorrow is tomorrow…let’s be in the present and enjoy the now…

…but I know that if I play in the present…I’ll not sleep ‘til six…not wake up on time…and be stuck eternally with this poverty monkey that loves to mock me…

So it’s best…I go to bed soon…and toss and turn and not sleep for a few hours and eventually get so sick of myself that I will literally fall asleep as an act of self hatred…

Wanna have coffee during the week as paltry counter offer? My shout…

Stacey

  1. You know what this whole romance reminds me of... It's like taking a trip. You set out to go somewhere specific in your mind, but you along the way encounter all these different things, places, people, and even though it's taking you longer to get there than you thought you really don't mind going slow because you're enjoying what's along the road to the preset destination.

  2. This is exactly what I've been longing for... more action taking place away from their respective computers

  3. This is a slightly mysterious one. Good for Stacey at getting a quick job etc but tall that detail just seemed a bit out of place to me and like she's trying to completely avoid the idea of meeting up with Dom.

Maybe something happened or was said at the pancake meeting that we're unaware of?

  4. Interesting idea Pete, and your allusion to the pancake meeting is a good one. I think every one here would give their back teeth to know what goes in between Dom & Stacey away from their computers, as alluded to by Anonymous 9:42.

I read Stacey's detailed message different to you, however :)

Dom's invite to watch cheesy horror films on Friday 13th was extended to Stacey and Marcus. Stacey may well be gainfully employed early on Saturday 14th and so have to decline, but it seems abundantly clear to me that she has no intention of meeting Dom with Marcus in tow... she wants to meet him alone.

  5. Agreed, anonymous 9:42. Just what we've been waiting for. Bring on the aftermath emails. Unless they don't really say much. If these two ever get together -- ever mindful of the by-line at the top of this blog "an email love story" -- they will either exchange some wonderfully dirty sex talk "god I loved you shafting me last night...do you mind me saying shafting", or they're going to send endless "love you" emails saying nothing. Or some deliciously obtuse stuff bristling with heat. I await with heavy breathing...

  6. I know it's sad you know at some point it all comes to an end. maybe we should have a bored olives viewing party for the last email. All the faithful bored olives viewers have a big party, meet each other and have Stephen personally read the last email aloud haha. Hell of a party that would be huh?

  7. Love your idea Chris! but I dont know if I could wait for someone to read it out! I am struggling to not be impatient as it is.
Jamie I really like your interpretation, I also wonder if the relationship with Marcus has become a bit of a convenience at least financially and this is Stacey trying to start the seperation by becoming independant and "growing up"
and Babs I am not sure if I want these two to exchange the type of emails your wanting, I love the way they say so much without being direct.

I am looking at the hit counter at the bottom left of this page and thinking this community is about to hit 100,000 hits. Just 950 more! Let's all send the link to all our friends, telling them the journey is worth it.

"Bored Olives about to hit 100,000 hits. Check it out. An email love story discovered on an old hard drive! Tantalizing reading!"

    Something like that.

  10. Hello All, sorry for being missing in action. I had some family in town. I don;t get to see them that often and I admit to indulging the precious moments in their company.

But they have left so down to replying to you all:

  11. Chris, I love your analagy here. It's loaded and not just resonate of this humble site. The journey of life, huh? Somehting profound about your thinking. The destination - wisdom, death perhaps and being okay with it as it's part of the journey. I kinda love that

And would love to go on a road trip with you.

  12. Anon (9:42) What about action on the copmuters? :)

  13. You know Pete, I think there is something happenikng here; something going on with Stacey. Perhaps this is what yo9u're picking up. I'm nkt sure she's distancing herself but I think she's looking at her own actions and trying to address them. So not so much 'distance dom' but more 'fix stacey'.

  14. Jamie, ah - this is interesting. No Marcus, huh. Maybe this is what I'm picking up. Part of fixing Stacey is dispelling Marcus.

  17. Chris, this comment is so sweet. I've alrady dined out on it. It's a lovely thought and maybe just maybe I could happen.

  18. Cindy, gosh - I hope the timing isn't too frustraing.

And I agree I think you've hit the nail on the head with Stacey and Marcus. It has become convenient. Financially etc and she's trying to maybe extricate herself. Thanks for clarifying this for me.

  19. Daniel, love your comment and suggestion -

"Bored Olives about to hit 100,000 hits. Check it out. An email love story discovered on an old hard drive! Tantalizing reading"

    - can I suggest you repost it on Sunday comments too - so more readers will see it.

  20. woo, big sigh of relief have been reading for a while now but finally braved the comments section! and its daunting let me tell you there are some very insightful people on this journey that have made it all the more worthwhile.
Oh and I have been passing the link on to many friends so hopefully we will hit 100,000 soon.

Stephen no its not frustrating, it makes going to work exciting on Mondays and Wednesdays. which at the moment is a hard thing to achieve. Its just I am one of those people who will stay up the whole night to finish a great book and then when it finally ends I am dissapointed because its over, so this is actually a great way to deliver a story.

  21. From Daniel Elswitt, 2.39pm Sydney, Australia

If we reach 100,000 hits, can we have a bonus extra bumper email deluge as a celebration, sort of email 126-136? or is that greedy?

Maybe 1 email per day for a week?

Or am I just spoiling our metaphorical lunch?

  23. Cindy, so glad you elected to join us. All comments are welcome and all voices are cherished. And as Jason said, the comments section is the favourite (though I hope the content also ranks)

I also am so glad that this little site makes monday and wednesday work days that little easier. Makes it all worth while for me.

Share the love or at least be kind, right?

  24. Daniel, love your thinking. I'll take any offers or suggesations as reward for breaking that 100,000 milestone.

So readers, what would you like?

  25. Jason, and you are one of the voices that makes it my favourite too. Thank you.
