Dear Stacey,

Okay, I’m willing to take the chance. Do you know the Club, Van Gogh’s Missing Earlobe in Woolloongabba?

Maybe we can have a quick drink next Friday. I believe that Friends of the Iguana are playing. They’re a local band. Two guitars, one cello.
Quite beautiful.

They have one song; The Navigation Song, which is my favourite. I know the lead guitarist (David) kinda, and I think I could swing a couple of comp’ tickets. And the first round is on me.

Say Friday; 9:00pm?
Fingers crossed

Dom

PS I don’t think the band believes in anything either. Well maybe romance. Is that a doctrine?

  3. I have to admit I love Doms bravery.( a rare attribute in the modern man...apart from the sociopathic/narcissitic type)... She is so obviously not interested at this stage albeit he has sparked her curiosity, her walls are high...but his persistence and intelligence and not to mention his wordsmith is getting him through the wall of Stacey.... Come on stacey....drop your wall and match his bravery!!

  5. Ah, not only is he brave, but he's got some moves has old Dom. The classic end-a-message-with-a-question manoeuvre to draw them in. In this example he's even gone rhetorical to try and encourage discussion. But will she take debate...?

  7. I'm with Mr S. I'd say, Dom, the charmer -- the far more cunning of the two....I would like to know what he is going dressed as/how -- after his depression debut. Hope or Extremely Available to her Nihilism. But then civvies are never this transparent, sadly, as it were. ...I must say I'm intrigued as to how the dynamic might shift, as it is bound to. She'll be his love slave in the end, don't you think? And what will he do when he has hooked her...out there in the parallel past where Queenslanders still meet at bars named after poor old Van Gogh's fit of radical pique.

  8. Van Gogh's Earlobe, now there's a blast from the past! And I'm a friend of the Iguanas! What a great archeological digital find. I'm hooked... can't wait for the next exciting epidisode. Yay!
